SHARAD NAVRATRA

Sharad Navratri, also known as Maha Navratri is observed for nine days and nine nights, with three days each for the worship of three • • different aspects of Goddess Durga for the first three days, as Goddess Lakshmi for the next three days and as Goddess Saraswati forthe final three days.

NAVRATRA

Chaitra Navratri, also known as Vasant Navratri, begins on March 18, 2018, This festival of nine nights in Hinduism is dedicated to Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. As this Navratra coincides with Ram Navami, it also referred as Ram Navratri.

SHIVRATRI

It is a major festival in Hinduism, but one that is solemn a n d ma rks a remembrance of •overcomi ng darkness and ignorance" in life and the world. It is observed by remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, doing Yoga, and meditating on ethics and virtues such as self-restraint, honesty, non injury to Others, forgiveness, and the discovery of Shiva.

DUSHERA

According tothe great Hindu epic Ramayana. Lord Ram killed Ravana on the tenth day that is Dussehra. It is called as triumph of virtue over sin or immorality. The festival ofDussehra is also known as Durga Pooja and in eastern part of India people worship GodfB Durga all the nine days and celebrate Dussehra as it was on that day thatthe demon Mahisasura was killed by the GoddesÝ

DEEPAWLI

Diwali (also in certain religions) or Deepavali, is commonly known as the festival of lights and is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. It is an important 5-day festival celebrated between mid-October and mid• November. The fourth fay Of Diwali is the Hindu New Year. It also remarks the arrival of god rarna from thefourteen-year exile. .

JANMASHTAMI

Krishna Janmashtami Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. It is observed according to Hindu luni-solar calendar, on the day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapada, is an important festival particularly to the Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism.

CHAITRA NAVRATRI

Lord Ram wanted to get the blessings of Goddess Durga before beginning the war with Ravana in the Ramayana. Therefore, he invoked Goddess Durga during Ashwin.This is why the Durga puja during October is also known as Akal Bodhon or untimely invocation. .

VASANT PANCHAMI

Vasant Panchami, also spelled Basant Panchami, is a Hindu spring festival, The festival is celebrated in various ways depending on the region. Many revere goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of learning, arts and music. Others mark it asthe festival of god Kama, the Hindu deity of ove, by remembering the loved one particularly one's spouse Of special friend, celebrating it with spring flowers.

HOLI

The Holika bonfire and Holi signifiesthe celebration ofthe symbolicvictory of good over evil, of Prahlada over Hirany Hiranyakashipu, and of the fire that burned Holika. In the Braj region of India, where the Hindu deity Krishna grew up, the festival is celebrated until Rangpanchmi in commemoration Of the divine love Of Radha for Krishna.

HANUMAN JAYANTI

Hanuman Jayanti is an important festival of the Hindus. Hanuman is the symbol of strength and energy. He is cx1id to be able to assume any form at will, move mountains, dart through the air, seize the clouds Lord Hanuman is worshipped asa deity with the ability to attain victory against evil and provide protection.

SAAVAN

This is the month to worship Lord Shiva that fulfills people's wishes. According to religious scriptures, the poison that was consumed by Lord Shiva in the Samudra Manthan was actual y during the month of Shravan/Sawan. Since this was the time when Shiva saved everyone from dying, he is worshipped with priority in the month of Sawan only.

PITRASHRAD

According to Hinduism the souls of three preceding genration of one's ancestor reside in Pitru-Loka,a realm between heaven and earth. This realm is governed by Yama,the god of death, Who takes the soul of a dying man from earth to Pitru-Loka.When a person of the next genration dies,the first genration shifts to heaven and unites with god.
